The first kite was was made in China by Mo Di (486-376 BC). He got the idea and the inspiration form watching leaves flow with the wind. Kites weren't always used for fun and games. Kite in the early days were also meant for military purposes. They would built kites large enough to carry men into the air to see enemy movement. People now use kites for fishing. they attached bait to the end of the kite along with a type of net to catch fish.
